ABOUT

Mischa Podstransky is a Swiss keyboard player, composer, arranger, sound designer and teacher. 

Having grown up in a musical family, Mischa Podstransky was surrounded by music from an early age and later studied keyboards and synthesizer with a focus on rock/pop music at the ZHdK in Zurich. Further studies followed at the Berklee College of Music in Boston (jazz) , at the HSLU Lucerne and in New York. 

 

In his early years he was mainly influenced by classical music and blues/boogie piano (Dr. John, Leon Russell, Elton John), later follows a growing interest in rock and jazz (Toto, Keith Emerson, Rachel Flowers, Genesis, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Lyle Mays etc.). His love for classical piano (Bach, Mozart, Chopin, Beethoven, Ravel) has always remained.

For years Mischa Podstransky has been actively involved in the Swiss rock and jazz music scene as a keyboardist, pianist, composer, and sound designer. He has worked and toured with Spiders and Cockroaches, Anna Murphy, Patrick Scott, Dada Ante Portas, Piro Tones, Roxxxet, Dimitri Monstein Ensemble, the 21st Century Orchestra and many more. 

 

At the same time Mischa Podstransky teaches piano, keyboards, composing and arranging at the music school in Cham. He writes various arrangements that are specifically adapted for (keyboard) lessons.
